Before the Pour Began

Motha of Teas was born from care.

There was care. There was intention. There was a need to support.

Before it had a name, it lived in small moments.
Behind the bar, I would mix lemon, mint, citrus, and honey for coworkers who needed comfort. Something warm. Something simple. Something that felt like support.

Over time, those cups became something people returned for.
Friends would come by, especially on the days their bodies asked for a little more. Not just for the tea, but for how it made them feel.

It was never just about what was in the cup.
It was about what the cup held.

Then came COVID-19.

I was far from family, working in a nursing home, watching people search for strength in whatever ways they could find it. And in that space, I leaned into what I knew. Herbs. Care. Intention.

I saw how small, consistent support could make a difference. Not overnight. Not all at once. But gently. Steadily. In ways the body understands.

That is when everything shifted.

Tea was no longer just comfort.
It became part of how we care for ourselves.

Rooted in Ghanaian culture, where tea is a part of everyday life, Motha of Teas was created with that same understanding. That what we return to daily should nourish us.

Some herbs are sourced from Ghana. Others are grown or carefully selected from trusted farmers and herbal partners. Fruits and roots are prepared in house, preserving their natural flavor, color, and quality.

Each blend is made in small batches.
With care.
With intention.
With purpose.

Motha of Teas was created to redefine what tea means.

Not just for when you are sick.
Not just something you reach for in passing.

But a moment.
A pause.
A way to come back to yourself.

More than tea, it is the support you did not know you needed in every sip.

At Motha’s Table, there is always a seat for you, because

 You Never Lack Support.
